Poetry:

Rajeshwor Karki
The Unconscious Charioteer
Once upon a time in a big city
A street dog without his regulator
On his own, would move wherever he liked
And arbitrarily cross the congested road
He was never afraid of death
Instead of a traffic
A bull would stay on the middle of the road
He was secure, too
And was fearless of death
One day out of the blue
A pronouncement was made from firmament
"If somebody violates imperatives
The nation won't remain anymore"
Then, except human
They began to cross road from the zebra cross
Without qualm they were moving through zebra cross
Humans' vehicle knocked them down
And ran away from zebra cross
They were killed on the spot
But safe and sound were chaotically moving humans
The open eyes of the dead were
Staring at haphazardly moving humans
On the background the song was on-
"Such is the custom of the nation
Loser's tears, winner's laughter
Who hears their grievances, on whom, injustice betides"
And that day main news was published-
"In a neighboring country under the leadership of a skilled charioteer thousands of ducks have crossed hundreds of kilometers highway in a single file procession"
All of a sudden from firmament
Flowers fell on the head of a single human
He was the poet writing this poem on heart
Keeping the nation on the pulsation
